CUPRA KIRO's Dan Ticktum wins MrBeast challenge, donates $100,000 to Help for Heroes
CUPRA KIRO driver, Dan Ticktum, donates $100,000 to UK veterans’ charity, Help for Heroes, after winning high-octane racing challenge set by YouTube megastar, MrBeast
CUPRA KIRO driver, Dan Ticktum, has donated $100,000 to British veterans’ charity, Help for Heroes, after winning a high-stakes racing challenge set by the world’s biggest content creator, MrBeast.
Dan, 25, from London, recently became Formula E’s newest podium finisher at the Tokyo E-Prix and appeared in the latest edition of MrBeast’s high-octane challenge series which pits contestants against world-class athletes, with a life-changing $100,000 on the line.
If the athlete wins, the money is donated to charity, but if the challenger wins, they take home the prize, and earlier this year, Dan took to the track, facing the pressure of completing four racing laps of the Miami International Autodrome in the time it took Ronnie, a friend of MrBeast, to finish three.
In the head-to-head, which was released on Saturday 24 May and saw CUPRA KIRO’s state-of-the-art Formula E GEN3 Evo cars go wheel-to-wheel, Dan crossed the line first to secure $100,000 which he donated to Help for Heroes.
Founded in 2007, Help for Heroes assists veterans who are transitioning from military to civilian life in the United Kingdom. The charity has helped more than 30,000 people by providing tailored and holistic support for their physical and mental health, alongside their welfare and social needs.
Alongside the donation, the initiative has pushed the Help for Heroes mission to MrBeast’s 700-million-strong audience, bringing much-needed visibility and awareness to veterans’ welfare, mental health, and social reintegration.
CUPRA KIRO’s work with MrBeast placed Dan alongside sporting legends including Serena Williams, Stephen Curry, and football royalty, Neymar. The wider content series has already featured names including Cristiano Ronaldo, Tom Brady, and Bryson DeChambeau.
Since making its debut in Formula E this season, CUPRA KIRO – Co-Owned by Idris Elba – has significantly grown its cultural footprint by combining elite motorsport with global entertainment partnerships.
Earlier this year, CUPRA KIRO joined forces with Marvel Studios to promote Thunderbolts* at the Miami and Monaco E-Prix – a partnership which was the first of its kind in World Championship motorsport.
CUPRA KIRO’s first collaboration with MrBeast also turned heads when the YouTube megastar took the wheel and dramatically crashed the team’s GEN3 Evo car to generate a viral moment, seen across the globe.
Dan and the team will resume the 2024/25 season at the Shanghai E-Prix from 31 May to 1 June.

“Globally, but especially in the UK, I don’t think there’s any excuse for the way some veterans and people who have fought for our country are treated. In the UK, money often goes to the wrong places, and I think veterans should receive far more support. That’s why I chose to donate to Help for Heroes, which is a charity I really respect for the work that they do. Once someone has devoted their life fighting for their country, they should be given everything, in my opinion, but unfortunately, that’s often not the case.”
