Pepe Martí to drive in FP0 at 2026 Miami E-Prix

CUPRA KIRO’s Pepe Martí to participate in FP0 at the Miami International Autodrome

American racing team, CUPRA KIRO, can confirm that Pepe Martí will participate in Formula E’s upcoming rookie test at the 2026 Miami E-Prix, the third round of the 2025/26 season.

The test, known as FP0, provides a rare opportunity for rookie drivers to experience current generation Formula E machinery while providing teams with an invaluable opportunity for additional track time and data collection during the season.

With the Miami International Autodrome making its debut on the Formula E calendar this season, FP0, held on Friday 30 January, will play a vital role in establishing baseline performance data ahead of the weekend.

As one of 20 full-time drivers on the grid this season, Pepe’s participation is permitted under Article 4.7 of the 2025/26 FIA Formula E Sporting Regulations, which defines that a driver is considered a rookie until the end of the first season in which they compete.

The 20-year-old Spaniard made his debut with CUPRA KIRO at the 2025 São Paulo E-Prix and secured the first points finish of his Formula E career earlier this month in Mexico City after delivering an impressive recovery drive to finish seventh despite serving a 10-second stop-go penalty during the race.

Pepe Martí, Driver, CUPRA KIRO
“It’s good to be doing FP0 in Miami. Following São Paulo where we missed FP1 and Mexico City where we missed FP2 due to a technical issue, having FP1 and FP2 alongside FP0 should set us up very well for the weekend. For me personally, it’s very exciting to be one of the first drivers to experience the track in a live session, and I’m looking forward to getting the season started again.”

Russell O’Hagan, Team Principal, CUPRA KIRO
“Thanks to Formula E’s regulations for this season and a welcome initiative by the FIA, we have the unique benefit and advantage of being able to run Pepe in FP0 in Miami. Because the likes of Felipe [Drugovich] and Joel [Eriksson] – the only other first full-year drivers this season – have raced in Formula E in the past, Pepe is the only full-time driver on the grid who is eligible to participate, which makes the session especially valuable for us. Pepe’s first experience of a Formula E car only came during pre-season testing, so given his relative level of experience to the rest of the grid, FP0 will be an invaluable opportunity for his continued development. With the Miami International Autodrome also being a brand-new circuit for Formula E, we also have the added benefit of gaining an extra 40 minutes of running with one of our full-time drivers. It’s an opportunity that no other team has this weekend, and for us, it’s a win-win.”
