CUPRA KIRO wraps up most successful Formula E season to date in London

CUPRA KIRO concludes the 2025/26 Formula E season in the top 10 in Race 2 in London, with the American squad completing its most successful campaign in the World Championship to date

  • CUPRA KIRO signed off the 2025/26 FIA Formula E World Championship with an eighth place finish in Race 2 of the 2026 London E-Prix, with Spain’s Pepe Martí battling into the top 10 after starting from 13th.

  • In the final Qualifying session of the season, Dan Ticktum progressed to the duels from Group B but started from eighth after experiencing a recurring brake by wire failure, which resulted in a heavy lock up, during his Quarter-Final run. Pepe, meanwhile, was classified 11th but started from 13th due to a three-place grid penalty.

  • At the start of the race, Dan slipped to ninth and held the position over the opening phase before taking Attack Mode on lap 10. Rejoining in 10th, he used the additional power to regain ninth place but was aggressively blocked from making further progress, and as the midfield battle intensified with multiple strategies at play, fell outside of the points. With a late second Attack Mode on lap 32, Dan recovered from 18th to finish 16th at the flag, setting the fastest lap.

  • Pepe maintained 13th at the start of the race to build an energy advantage over his nearest competitors. After establishing an energy offset, he pushed to take his two Attack Mode activations on laps 23 and 31 of 35 and battled forward into the top 10 over the final laps to secure eighth.

  • After 17 rounds, CUPRA KIRO placed eighth in the World Teams’ Championship with one victory, three podiums, two pole positions and a total of 128 points to complete its most successful campaign in Formula E to date.

Pepe Martí, Driver, CUPRA KIRO
“It felt good to be back inside the top 10 today after a slightly frustrating run on Saturday. There were a lot of games going on in the race, but we extracted everything we could out of it. We saved energy at the right time, the strategy was good, and we did everything that we needed to do. It feels good to finish the season as the highest placed rookie on the grid and I want to thank the team for the support they’ve given me this season. Everyone in the team has done a great job all season and I count myself very lucky to be able to work with such a special and talented group of people. The time they gave me to learn and understand my mistakes without any pressure has made them fantastic to work with, and I couldn’t have done this season without them. I’m very grateful.”

Dan Ticktum, Driver, CUPRA KIRO
“Overall, today wasn’t great. I had an issue with the brakes in Qualifying which meant that I couldn’t challenge for pole, which was a shame, because I really think that we probably had the fastest car on the grid today. In the race we went for an early Attack Mode which didn’t work out for us, and there was some questionable driving at times. I want to thank the team for everything they have done this season, and I want to thank the fans for their support – there’s been a lot of positivity all year.”

Russell O’Hagan, Team Principal, CUPRA KIRO
“It’s been a frenetic end to the season here in London. After the promise we showed on Saturday, it’s perhaps a little disappointing not to come away with a bigger result today, but I don’t want that to detract from what has been a strong season for this team. Last year, we set a benchmark for ourselves, but our objective coming into this season was to take another significant step forward with stronger results, greater consistency, and a clear upward trajectory in performance. That’s exactly what we’ve done. We’ve shown that CUPRA KIRO can compete at the front of this championship, and that we can be a force to be reckoned with. There have been bumps along the way, but the way this team has responded has been one of the things I’m most proud of. On the tough days we stayed resilient, we kept pushing and we continued to find ways to improve. I want to thank Dan, Pepe, and everyone across the team for the incredible work they’ve put in throughout the year, as well as our fans for their support. Congratulations as well to our Technical Partner, Porsche, and Pascal [Wehrlein] on securing a second Drivers’ Championship title together. GEN3 is now complete, but for CUPRA KIRO, this is only the beginning. We’ll be back for GEN4, and I’m incredibly excited to see what the future holds for us.”
