CUPRA KIRO set for 2024/25 Formula E finale
CUPRA KIRO heads to London's ExCeL Circuit to wrap up Formula E's 2024/25 season
CUPRA KIRO is ready to bring the curtain down on its debut Formula E campaign at the London E-Prix, with the American squad set for the grand finale of the World Championship’s 2024/25 season.
Set against the backdrop of the ExCeL Centre in the heart of east London, the final race weekend of Season 11 offers two final opportunities to score points.
With home hero, Dan Ticktum, in action and with CUPRA KIRO’s ambitious target of scoring 100 points over the course of the campaign within reach, one goal remains: signing the season off in style.
Discover The Circuit
London’s ExCeL Circuit has been a part of Formula E’s calendar since Season 7, and thanks to its indoor-outdoor sections, has forged a reputation as one of the most unique venues in international motorsport.
The transition between high-grip indoor surfaces and outdoor sections adds an extra degree of complexity to car setup, and while overtaking can be difficult, looming barriers and as a result, frequent Safety Cars, ensure that London is one of the most unpredictable races of the season.
The final appearance of Pit Boost this season on Saturday will only add an extra layer of intrigue and to come out on top, consistency, adaptability, and one lap pace will be absolutely critical.
Last Time Out
CUPRA KIRO arrived in Berlin for the penultimate weekend of the 2024/25 season looking to build on its strong form, and despite facing mixed fortunes across the double-header, showed ongoing strong potential at Tempelhof.
Challenging wet weather shuffled the grid for Round 13, and after starting from eighth, Dan Ticktum battled to a points finish, securing a valuable ninth place. David Beckmann, meanwhile, showed encouraging pace on home turf, but was forced to retire following late contact.
In Round 14, Dan starred in Qualifying once again by lining up on the front row. He and David raced in-formation over the opening phase and briefly ran 1-2, but high energy usage at the front left both drivers vulnerable in the closing stages. Dan slipped to 15th while David was 17th.
Hear From CUPRA KIRO
Alex Hui, Team Principal, CUPRA KIRO
“It’s very difficult to believe that we’re already at the end of our debut season in Formula E as CUPRA KIRO. It’s a journey that started less than 10 months ago with nothing but a blank canvas and a clear vision, but since then, we’ve built something we’re incredibly proud of. We’ve become a team that’s bold and ambitious, and unafraid to do things differently. From that first day, we set our own internal benchmarks for success, which made this season not just about results, but about building a culture and laying strong foundations for the future. London marks the final race weekend of the campaign, and for us, it’s a chance to sign off this first chapter off in style. Our aim is simple: push hard and walk away at the end Sunday, knowing that we gave it absolutely everything.”
Dan Ticktum, Driver, CUPRA KIRO
“The last race of the season is a special one for me. It’s my home race, and the ExCeL is a difficult little circuit but very fun. It’s one of those tracks where there’s very little room for error so the margin for the driver to make a difference is bigger. I enjoy it a lot, and I love having the home fans at the circuit – it’s always nice to chat to them in the autograph sessions. It’s been a long few months with all of the flyaway races in Asia, and I’m looking forward to the finale before having some time off.”
David Beckmann, Driver, CUPRA KIRO
“It’s hard to believe that the season is almost over already, but I’m super motivated to end the year on a high. At the last race weekend in Berlin we were really unlucky, and now, I want to try and get back what we lost, especially in the second race where our strategy didn’t go as we planned. London is a very unique venue, with the indoor-outdoor sections. Indoors the track is very high grip, but outside, there are big surface changes which makes it very technical. This means that it’s possible to make up a lot of time but in general, it can be hard to overtake. Our target is to have a good Qualifying, and to score points.”
Russell O’Hagan, Chief Operating Officer, CUPRA KIRO
“Reaching the end of our debut season is a milestone that reflects not just how far we’ve come, but how quickly we’ve built momentum. From the outset, our focus was to redefine how we go racing – not just in how we compete, but in how we engage, and how we grow. London presents one final opportunity for us to showcase the progress that we’ve made this season, and every detail will be crucial. Our mission couldn’t be clearer: we want to deliver top-level results and end this season in the same way that we plan to start the next one.”
