CUPRA KIRO promoted to second in Sanya

CUPRA KIRO driver, Pepe Martí, has been promoted to a second place finish at the 2026 Sanya E-Prix following a post-race time penalty for Felipe Drugovich.

Following an FIA investigation post-race, it was found that Drugovich was responsible for causing an accident with Pascal Wehrlein in Turn 9 and as a result, received a five-second penalty added to his race time.

Pepe originally finished third after battling forward from 18th to claim his second podium of the 2025/26 FIA Formula E World Championship season, however, by placing second, has secured his best result of the campaign to date.

As a result, Pepe continues to hold 11th in the Drivers’ Championship, now with 58 points, while CUPRA KIRO maintains eighth in the Teams’ Standings with 86 points.
