CUPRA KIRO eyeing success at 2026 Shanghai E-Prix

CUPRA KIRO continues the Asian leg of the 2025/26 Formula E season, hopeful of success following a competitive showing in Shanghai last season

CUPRA KIRO continues the 2025/26 FIA Formula E World Championship this weekend as the series returns to China’s Shanghai International Circuit for the second of three consecutive race weekends in the Asian continent.

With just three race weekends remaining, the championship is pivoting into a decisive period in which maximising every points-scoring opportunity becomes critical.

After scoring podium finishes across consecutive weekends in Monaco and Sanya, CUPRA KIRO arrives in Shanghai with momentum and drivers, Dan Ticktum and Pepe Martí, continue to pursue another strong points haul.

Hear From The Team

Dan Ticktum, Driver, CUPRA KIRO
“Shanghai is a very different track to Sanya. Because of the energy sensitivity there will be a lot of lifting and coasting, slipstreaming, and we’ll see a lot of peloton-style pack racing. We’ve prepared as much as we can, but strategy will be very important this weekend. We had some good pace in Shanghai last year so I’m hoping for a good result.”

Pepe Martí, Driver, CUPRA KIRO
“I’m really excited to race in Shanghai for the first time. Coming to Shanghai after two good results with the podiums in Monaco and Sanya really brings up my confidence. I felt really good in Sanya in terms of how we were performing and working together as a team, and I think the next step is Qualifying. We missed out on the duels by such a small margin last time, and if we can make it into the duels for both races, we should be able to fight for more good results this weekend.”

Russell O’Hagan, Team Principal, CUPRA KIRO
“We’re looking forward to getting back on track in Shanghai after another encouraging race weekend in Sanya. Over the past two events, we’ve successfully established some positive momentum, and having that form, and, in turn, capitalising upon it, will be incredibly important in the upcoming run of races. Last season, we were genuinely competitive in Shanghai and although we came away having missed out on the podium, the performance gives us confidence heading into this weekend. Our objective is to build on the progress we’ve made over recent races and hopefully, convert our pace into another strong set of results. With Dan’s outright speed, Pepe’s current form and the team’s level of determination, we have all of the right ingredients to fight at the front, and we’re excited to see what we can achieve.”
