CUPRA KIRO appoints Mark Turner as Operations Manager

International championship and team management veteran, Mark Turner, joins CUPRA KIRO as Operations Manager ahead of 2025/26 Formula E season

With preparations for the 2025/26 FIA Formula E World Championship in full-swing, CUPRA KIRO is delighted to welcome Mark Turner as Operations Manager.

A seasoned veteran in international motorsport, Mark brings more than 20 years of championship and team management experience to the American squad and will play a critical role in strengthening CUPRA KIRO’s operational backbone as the team gears up for Season 12.

Mark joins CUPRA KIRO following a four-year spell as Sporting Manager for the British Automobile Racing Club (BARC) where he oversaw a diverse portfolio of events and series, including the Goodwood Festival of Speed, British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), British Formula 4, Porsche Carrera Cup GB, and TCR UK.

Prior to joining the BARC, Mark served as the Championship Manager for Formula E’S official support series, the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY, and led the Asian-based Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup for eight seasons.

Following the recent arrival of Gary Paffett as Racing Director, Mark’s appointment represents another strategic step forward for CUPRA KIRO as it builds upon a breakthrough debut campaign in Formula E, a season marked by the team’s maiden pole position, podium, and race win.

Russell O’Hagan, Chief Operating Officer, CUPRA KIRO
“Mark’s appointment represents yet another important milestone in the evolution of CUPRA KIRO. As we look to build on the foundations we laid during our debut season, having the right people in key leadership positions is critical to our long-term success. Mark brings a wealth of operational expertise across an impressive range of championships and companies, and his knowledge will help us to continue to raise the bar in how we prepare, execute, and grow as a team. I’m very happy to welcome Mark to CUPRA KIRO, and I’m confident that his insight and attention to detail will make him a fantastic asset as we continue to prepare for Season 12.

Mark Turner, Operations Manager, CUPRA KIRO
“I’m thrilled to be joining CUPRA KIRO at what is such an exciting time for the team. The progress the team made last season was hugely impressive, and it’s clear that there is a real sense of ambition and purpose at every level. Operational excellence is the backbone of any successful sports organisation, and my focus will be on working closely with everyone across the company to ensure that we have the processes and structures in place to keep pushing forward. I’m looking forward to getting started, and contributing to shaping the next chapter of CUPRA KIRO’s journey in Formula E.”
